The purpose of this course is to provide students enrolled in a primary medical degree (such as an MBBS or MD) with foundational knowledge and skills to navigate the evolving digital health landscape. Fundamental to the course is an introduction to My Health Record, a pivotal tool in Australia's healthcare system, offering students practical insights into its role in clinical practice and patient care.

The course is to be a foundational level course (like the Agency's Digital Health Foundations for Nursing and Midwifery: Competency Preparation for Placement course) and will be informed by and map to elements in the Toolkit.

This course should be designed such that educators can use this course as a part of their course curricula to achieve standardised digital health learning outcomes for medical students. The course should aim to provide students with competence in using digital tools in healthcare as they transition from university into clinical practice.
