How we collect this data
Stipple shows Australian tenders, grants, contract awards and planned procurements. These are the government and public bodies whose published data we read, how often we read each one, and the licence it is published under where one is recorded.

We also read the commercial e-tendering platforms many councils publish their tenders on, and sites that republish government tenders.
How we read it
- Each source is read on the schedule shown beside it.
- Before we read a site directly, we check its robots.txt and follow it, except where a dated, recorded decision says otherwise. Some pages are read through a rendering service instead.
- We never pass a login wall.
- Key dates, such as the question cut-off, a site briefing and the closing time, are read from the tender's own text by fixed rules. When the rules cannot read a date with certainty, the page says so; we never guess one.
- When a tender is published with few details, we research the rest. A detail we research is kept only when we can read it on the page where the tender was published; a detail copied from another record of the same tender is recorded with its source.
