Description
Tender Details : MidCoast Council is seeking an experienced scrap metal recycling contractor for a five-year contract to purchase, collect, transport, sort, process and lawfully recycle or sell ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal and used lead-acid batteries. The services also include compliant on-site refrigerant recovery and degassing of refrigerators, freezers and air-conditioning equipment before collection as scrap. Collections will be undertaken from Council’s Waste Management Facilities at Taree, Tuncurry, Gloucester, Stroud, Bulahdelah and Tea Gardens. Standard collection requests must commence within three weeks, while a limited number of urgent requests must commence within one week. The Contractor will pay Council an agreed fixed percentage of the applicable published market benchmark for each material category.
