GO8589: Comprehensive Primary Health Care – New Entrants

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to provide funding for selected Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs), currently delivering General Practitioner services, to provide Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) under the Indigenous Australians’ Health Programme (IAHP) who have not previously been funded to do so. This funding will be available over four years from 2026-27 to 2029-30. The objectives of the grant opportunity are to: • provide First Nations people with improved access to culturally appropriate comprehensive primary health care services by: Supporting ACCHSs to expand or enhance service availability, service frequency, the range of services offered, workforce capability, service integration and geographic coverage • support ACCHSs to deliver culturally appropriate comprehensive primary health care services tailored to the health needs and priorities of their communities, and • support ACCHSs to embed Continuous Quality Improvement and best practice clinical and organisational governance into CPHC service delivery, supporting good health outcomes for clients and service sustainability. The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are: • First Nations people can access culturally appropriate CPHC services, where and when they need it • ACCHSs deliver culturally appropriate CPHC services that meet the health needs and priorities of their local communities, and • ACCHSs deliver best practice CPHC services to their local communities.
