Gippsland Water is issuing a Request for Tender for a Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) replacement solution. The DMR system supports operational remote sites as well as mobile vehicle voice and emergency communications to reduce risks for staff working remotely or in isolation. A replacement solution is required because the core base station equipment is aging, with four base stations no longer supported by the manufacturer. The replacement solution is envisaged to utilise the existing handheld and portable radios, which remain reasonably current. The incoming government will determine whether to proceed with the tender process and contract award following the caretaker period for the November 2026 Victorian State election.
